I guess I reached my limits in terms of the oh-so-blah classical portrait. But I love doing them, it's like my second nature and the best way of relaxing for me. And it's slowly becoming a tradition of mine - one pretty actor per year
 (wondering who will it be next time...). I just miss the opportunity to show the adorable green spot in his left eye q:I started it as a try on a few tutorials about the underpainting technique in Painter, but ended up doing it my way anyway. Used plenty of various brushes, a crappy reference photo for cloning and correcting errors, a texture from *hibbary , and a few photos and paintings for the colour palette (completing the colour palette before you start painting really helps a lot). We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
