"Oh! She is the most beautiful creature I ever beheld! But there is one of her sisters sitting down just behind you, who is very pretty, and I dare say very agreeable. Do let me ask my partner to introduce you."
"Which do you mean?" and turning round he looked for a moment at Elizabeth, till catching her eye, he withdrew his own and coldly said: "She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt ME; I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men. You had better return to your partner and enjoy her smiles, for you are wasting your time with me."

Jane Austen - "Pride and prejudice"

As you can guess I've red the book recently and really enjoyed it - I'm a sucker for this kind of couples (just like Sophie and Howell from Diana Wynne - Jones' novel). They're adorable, aren't they?:D And I tell you, when you age you become more and more sentimental.

It supposed to be a simple sketch, but as you can see, I went a bit overboard. It's not perfect (damn, I should be learning for my exams actually...), but I hope, you'll like it:)

EDIT (24.02.2008) :Now I can say, I'm fond of the result (however, I still don't like this picture, it's so blah!). And to think, I've always thought there's something wrong with people who actually can paint in PS...

P.S. EDWARD CULLEN IS NOT A FREAKING FLYING SQUIRREL!!
Those who know what I'm talking about, we must rebel against the squirreliness of Edward...

Holy damn, I like the look you have to it, reminds me of Da Vinci paintings. Really amazing work.

I'm glad you went overboard with this ^_^

It is nice! I also like that book a whole lot.

Is it just me, or does her face seem...curved in a bit? Odd around the far side of the mouth.

I'm glad they don't seem to be based off of the movie versions. XD;

Very lovely. I love romances like theirs, too :)

This is very well done, it looks just like an oil painting from the time this book takes place. I too am a fan and this scene in particular is one of my favorites. :+fav:

Impressive! Darcy's profile is perfect. ;) I love how you painted them!
Do I recognize any BBC influence there, or is it just my imagination?

Thanks! I was worrying about his profile a bit, I'm glad it turned well then:). To be honest, I tried to stay far away from any influence. I saw the BBC mini series looong ago and don't remember it very well. However, I want to watch it again. But I know I liked it a lot, just as I like the new film version:). But maybe I had some pictures in my (unconscious) memory though:D
