"Oh! She is the most beautiful creature I ever beheld! But there is one of her sisters sitting down just behind you, who is very pretty, and I dare say very agreeable. Do let me ask my partner to introduce you."
"Which do you mean?" and turning round he looked for a moment at Elizabeth, till catching her eye, he withdrew his own and coldly said: "She is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt ME; I am in no humour at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men. You had better return to your partner and enjoy her smiles, for you are wasting your time with me."

Jane Austen - "Pride and prejudice"

As you can guess I've red the book recently and really enjoyed it - I'm a sucker for this kind of couples (just like Sophie and Howell from Diana Wynne - Jones' novel). They're adorable, aren't they?:D And I tell you, when you age you become more and more sentimental.

It supposed to be a simple sketch, but as you can see, I went a bit overboard. It's not perfect (damn, I should be learning for my exams actually...), but I hope, you'll like it:)

EDIT (24.02.2008) :Now I can say, I'm fond of the result (however, I still don't like this picture, it's so blah!). And to think, I've always thought there's something wrong with people who actually can paint in PS...

A beautiful portrait. Heart
Their clothing and pose also match their personalities:
Elizabeth is light and open, while Darcy is dark and standoffish, facing away from us. :)
